Week Four is All About Sports at ENHE!

Essential questions during Week Four:
ENHE @ St. Ann's: What is the role of sports in your family, our community, and our world?

The highlight of the week was definitely our field trip to the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.
Two of our students even met and interviewed Charlie Anderson, a member of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, for our newspaper!  Students also enjoyed creating sports posters with Nashville Predators players and volunteers.
In addition to the sports posters, we spent time with artist Nicole Maron. She continued working with the students on our letterpress poster project for our theme, ‘My Family, My Community, My World.” We incorporated the fonts we created with Megan Little but transitioned to a digital format for printing.

Students read excellent sports books:
2nd grade: Salt In His Shoes: Michael Jordan in Pursuit of a Dream
3rd grade: Brothers At Bat
4th grade: Happy Like Soccer

Over at our Ross ELC location, the rising kindergarten and first graders asked this essential question: What can I do to make the world a better place? Their focus was on sustainability and the environment. One of their theme books was Our Tree Named Steve, and the first graders planted pumpkin seeds!
