Using Tutoring to Continue Progress

East Nashville Hope Exchange is thrilled to offer tutoring as part of continued literacy support to our families throughout this school year. Families and staff worked hard all summer to support these young readers and saw great gains. To continue this momentum, several families committed to bringing their children to tutoring twice a week.

​It's the final week of Summer Program 2016, and we saved the best for last! ​This week, St. Ann's students focused on the Opinion section of the newspaper.  Students practiced writing persuasively - their arguments are very convincing!

It's the first week of the Summer Program, and we are off to a great start! In the next six weeks, students will explore these big questions (What is a family? What is a community? What is a world?) while also applying what they learned to their own community: East Nashville. This exploration will be experienced through daily Guest Readers, classroom discussions, weekly theme books, and a field trip.
